THE new Meadow View Care Home is at the forefront of care for the elderly according to county councillor Sid Tooth.
The portfolio holder for adult services helped resident Marjorie Bayliss cut the ribbon at the complex which includes a 34-place residential home, six close-care cottages and two specially built bungalows to house two local families with disabled children.
At the heart of the development is the Poppies Social Centre which will provide day care for older people in Alcester, a venue for community activities where Alcester Operatic Society will be performing their latest production and a place for people living at the care centre to meet and socialise.
Building work took less than a year to complete thanks to a partnership between Warwickshire County Council and Prime Life Ltd.
