ON May 20 Lynda Kettle, a production set designer, costume designer and former actress, gave an entertaining talk illustrated by fascinating models of stage sets and photographs.
Lynda explained how she was introduced to the idea of set design and theatre as a teenager and knew that it was what she wanted to do as a career.
She began her training at Stourbridge College of Art and went on to Birmingham to gain a first class honours degree in theatre design.
From here her life has been a whirlwind of design projects.
From MAC at Cannon Hill to the BBC, Lynda has worked with stars and designed sets for programmes such as The Brothers, Tycoon, Angels, Vanity Fair, Poldark, and more recently, Pebble Mill at One, Dangerfield and 2.4 Children.
She now works as a freelance set designer, artist and sells a range of clothing, together with giving talks about styling. She gives a percentage of all sales to the NSPCC (call 01789 488263 for more details).
The coach for the summer trip to Edgbaston Botanical Gardens on June 17 will leave Alcester Post Office at 6pm sharp - be early and bring a picnic.
