THE parents of a youngster who drowned in a garden pond say they hope other families will learn from the loss of their "golden child".
Andrew Condon, aged 22 months, died at Birmingham Children's Hospital on Monday morning following the incident at his home in Whittall Drive East, Kidderminster, on Saturday.
His parents, Frank and Sam, said they hoped attention would be drawn to the potential dangers of small children near water.
"Andrew was a happy and contented child who took everything in his stride," they said.
"We can only hope that the loss of our golden child will increase public awareness to ensure that no other family has to endure an horrific incident such as this."
Details of funeral arrangements are not yet known.
