CYCLING: Matt Ashcroft managed seventh place in the Warwickshire Racing Club's 10-mile time trial at Wythall on Saturday.
In the windy conditions, the Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club rider powered home in 23 minutes 15 seconds.
The overall winner was Roger Iddles, of Stourbridge Cycling Club, in 21-49.
A Forest team entered the Worcester St Johns Cycling Club 10-mile time trial at Severn Stoke on Saturday when roadworks forced a change of course to a more hilly route.
New member John Callaghan was quickest in 25-04, followed by Dave Wood (26-40), Chris Poole (27-24), Richard Pedersen (28-30) and Mick Gray (30-52).
Overall winner of the event was new national champion Stuart Dangerfield, of Camel Valley C&TC, in 20-59.
In the club time trial, Rob Holbeche raced to victory around the hilly 10-mile Great Witley course in 25-54, beating his dad Len (28-17) into second place.
Other times: Dave Wood 26-20, Brian Clarke 27-05, Ceri Brown 27-15, Martin Morris 28-48, Pedersen 29-08, Nick Edwards 29-26, Aidan Collinge 29-50, Gray 30-57, Mike Nicol 33-39.
