HARVINGTON Golf Society staged its first away day of the season when they visited Kings Norton to compete over 27 holes for the Norman Whatmore Trophy.
The format was Stableford for the whole day with the 26 participants playing nine holes in the morning and a full 18 in the afternoon.
James Ryan and Warwick Holland both played exactly to their handicaps in the morning to score 18 points each with the former coming out on top on countback.
The afternoon round saw four players tie with 38 points and the eventual winner was Chris Moss who won the separate plate competition from Adrian Bennett again on countback with an excellent 17 points over the back six holes.
However, Ryan was the winner of the main competition and new holder of the Norman Whatmore Trophy with a total of 56 points.
