ANGLER Darren Cox finished ninth at last month's Embassy Challenge final in Spain.
Partnered by Nuneaton's Klaus Fix, the Stratford man finished second in his section on both days after reaching the final out of more then 4,000 original entries.
Cox weighed in 26.620kg on the opening day of competition and, in temperatures of 44C on the second day, he romped to another second place with an excellent carp weight of 39.960kg.
"It would have been nice to have finished up on the leader board but Klaus and I still had a fantastic trip," Cox admitted.
"Obviously, I was delighted that I managed to win second in my section on both days and I caught some quality carp."
