I AM sure the speed camera partnership will be very pleased by the gullibility of J Norwood (You Say, May 28) in accepting their propaganda.

If he did a little bit of independent research he would come to far more realistic view. For example, a Transport Research Laboratory study showed that excessive speed is only a factor in 4.3 per cent of all accidents.

These speed cameras are primarily about raising revenue and making police detection figures look good. They will only have a very minimal effect on overall road safety while creating a lot of very embittered motorists.
