FIREFIGHTERS were called to a school near Pershore as part of an activity week for ten and 11-year-olds.
Members of the Hereford and Worcester Fire Service visited St Nicholas CE Middle School, Pinvin, to teach the children about fire safety.
After an introductory session at the beginning of the week the children were given a practical exercise learning how to escape from a smoke-filled bus.
The rest of the week was dedicated to arts events including dancing displays from Africa and India, a drum workshop by Rod Smith, of Djembe Drums, and a play about the life of the Egyptian child king Tutankhamun.
