A CHURCH in Broadway is at risk of losing its choir through lack of interest in the community.
St Michael and All Angels said last year that the choir was struggling for members but the trend has continued this year.
The depleted choir, which now has only 11 members, is struggling to find new blood to take over from members who have left the choir in the past 12 months.
Organist Linda Green visited Broadway First School and took the details of 13 interested children, who were invited with their parents to the church but only two arrived at the practice session.
In the parish magazine, Grapevine, Ms Green said those who could not manage the weekly commitment could join a group of about 20 extras who augment the choir every second weekend in the month.
"Please seriously consider helping out in this way at least, otherwise there is a real danger that St Michael's will before long be one of the many churches who have no choir," she said.
She added that age and experience did not matter and anyone interested should call her on 01451 830327.
