JUDGING by the enthusiasm and commitment shown at the Tenbury Junior Football Fun Day on Sunday, May 25, the future of football in the town is in safe hands.
Despite the showers, the afternoon of matches running through all age groups was a great success thanks to a great team of coaches and parents who organised the day.
The club fields teams for under 6s, 8s, 10s, and 12s proving the point that keeping sport alive for children is important.
Thanks to the generosity of sponsors, who provide each team with a strip, and the trophy and medal donors, every player was a winner.
Fair play was the order of the day with only one sending off -- a parent playing against the under 6s -- but all in good fun. A special mention goes to the club's only girl player, six year old Georgina Salmon who fearlessly got stuck in, running all over the pitch and taking a really good penalty.
Much praise goes to everyone involved for an ambitious and highly promising first time event.
