Gary McDonald closed the gap between himself and league leader Dover Disney in the latest round of the Ludlow Cycling Clubs time-trial league.
An excellent time over the Brimfield/Ludlow ten mile course gave him one point over Disney, on a night when the weather was much more favourable than previous races.
With the absence of Chris Williams once more, the league remains wide open with several contenders in a winning position. With the season halfway through, every point is hard fought and the totals at the end of the year are traditionally very close.
Full time-trial results were: Paul Osborne, 21:37; Phil Mason, 22:01; Peter Murrieri, 22:30; Stu Griffiths, 22:34; Gary McDonald, 22:39; Wendy Hall, 22:53; Dover Disney, 23:13; Dave Morris, 23:33(PB); Chris Hughes, 23:42; Gary Biggs, 23:47; Phil Weaver, 23:49(PB); Dave Heaven, 24:04; Rob Cole, 24:31; Neil Turner, 24:52; Dave Walker, 25:13; Greg Smith, 25:14(PB); Gaby McDermott, 25:45; Paul Tomkinson, 25:57; Phil Smart, 27:10; Paul Bayliss, 27:34; Geoff Hudson, 28:07(PB); Sue Hughes, 28:17; Hannah Griffiths, 29:08(PB); Julia McDonald, 29:54; Paul Byard, 30:02.
