PRESIDENT of the English Bowls Association, Arthur Hockley, visited Pershore last week as the club celebrated its 75th anniversary.
The Mayor of Pershore and chairman of Wychavon District Council were also in attendance for the official opening of new changing facilities for both men and lady members.
The EBA president unveiled a plague to commemorate the occasion and much to his host club's counterpart, Ron Briscoe's delight, Pershore managed a two shot success in the game that followed the official proceedings.
Players from Gloucester, Kent, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire and Sussex were included in the visiting squad.
A similarly sunny afternoon with hopefully be on the cards when the ladies section celebrates its 50th anniversary later in the year.
