A NEW arrival to a close family means it now boasts five generations - all of the fairer sex. Kelly Brandon, 22, great grandmother Joan May, 65, grandmother Beverley Wareing, 37, and great-great grandmother Jessie Whitfield, 90, with three-month-old Bethany Roberts
Bethany Roberts, born three months ago at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, in Worcester, has made Jessie Whitfield, 90, a great-great grandmother.
Great grandmother Joan May, 65, said her mum never expected to top five generations but added "she loved it".
Mrs May, of Dunlin Drive, Kidderminster, said: "Maybe I could be a great great grandmother - you never know today as people are living longer.
"But five generations and all girls just in one family is special."
She added: "We get together quite a lot - we're very close."
The men in the family have not been quite so lucky in the longevity stakes.
Mrs Whitfield, who lives at the Shrubbery Nursing Home in Birmingham Road, Kidderminster, has been a widow for 36 years after her husband Cyril died aged just 55 - although he did see the birth of his grandson Kevin.
