HUNDREDS of youngsters from across Wyre Forest are to learn how to avoid dangers in the home and outdoors during a fortnight-long challenge.
Some 1,400 pupils from 17 district schools will attend the annual Young Citizen Challenge at Trimpley Reservoir, which runs from June 23 until July 4.
The event, hosted by Severn Trent Water and organised by West Mercia Police and Wyre Forest District Council's events section, is designed to raise awareness of risks, teach children how to react to danger and encourage teamwork, enterprise, social responsibility and respect for the emergency services.
Youngsters will be split into teams of six, aged 10 and 11, and will have to negotiate a series of hazards under the watchful eyes of scorers, with prizes for top scoring teams.
