A POT pourri of Broadway hits is set to keep feet tapping at this summer's Kidderminster Carnival concert.

Broadway melodies will be performed by the West Midland Light Orchestra, under the baton of musical director Hilary Summers, at Kidderminster Town Hall on Friday, June 13.

The programme will include classics by such notables as George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Richard Rodgers and Jerome Kern.

The orchestra will be led by Anne Weston and the singers will be orchestra regulars Jonathan Darby, Claire Worboys and John Hutton. Tickets are available from Hunters, Oxford Street, J&H Russell, Coventry Street, Stourport Photo Centre, High Street, and Bewdley Tourist Information Centre.

The concert is due to start at 7.30pm and proceeds will go to the carnival's chosen charity for the year, Kemp Hospice.

The carnival will be held at Brinton Park on Saturday, June 21, and anyone wanting a stall or to take part in the street parade should contact chairman Colin Hill on 01562 751634.

"Our first carnival concert was in 2000 to celebrate the new millennium and it proved so popular that it has become an annual event," said Mr Hill.

"The orchestra has drawn up an excellent programme, which I am confident will be a big hit with concert goers."
