A TALENTED organist, who regularly features on national radio, is to entertain Kidderminster music lovers.

Daniel Phillips, who is also Worcester Cathedral's assistant organist, is due to give a recital in Kidderminster Town Hall, on Thursday, June 12.

The lunchtime recital is the third of four in the town hall's spring/summer series, which has been organised by Hill Organ Promotion Society.

Daniel began his musical training as head chorister at Salisbury Cathedral and went on to achieve a top scholarship at Charterhouse Public School, where he studied piano, violin, organ and composition.

He was also organ scholar at Wells Cathedral between 1989 and 1990 and Jesus College, Cambridge, for three years before graduating with an honours degree in music.

He has since toured Canada, the USA and Europe as an accompanist and soloist and also teaches.

The accompanist to the Worcester Festival Choral Society and choirmaster of the Cathedral Voluntary Choir, he features on a number of CDs.

The final recital of the spring/summer series will see Kidderminster Town Hall's own organist Tim Morris perform on July 10.

Both events are due to start at 1.10pm and end at about 2pm.
