THE Sirens will be sounding at Kidderminster Library - but there will be no need to evacuate the building!
The Sirens, in this case, is the name of a trio which is to present Entice, a programme aimed at captivating the audience with operatic arias, songs from the musicals and traditional songs.
In the latest in the Live at the Library recitals, presented by the Classical Music Society, soprano Diana Sharp and mezzo-soprano Dawn Foxall will be accompanied by pianist Janine Smith, who has appeared in Kidderminster many times.
Janine studied at Birmingham Conservatoire and has performed widely as soloist and accompanist.
She has given many concerts in this country and abroad and freelances as a repetiteur with Birmingham Royal Ballet, which led to her appearing in a BBC television drama.
Diana graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire Opera course in 1996, and has performed with Mid-Wales Opera, Opera Inside Out, Music Theatre Kurnow, and the English Touring Opera.
Dawn also studied at Birmingham Conservatoire.
She recently appeared in The Gondoliers, Carmen and La Traviata.
The programme on Friday, June 13, will start at 7.30pm.
Tickets details are available from Kidderminster Library shop or from vice-chairman Von Stewart on 01562 755990.
