RACING conditions suited all riders during practice week at the Isle of Man TT races and, when the serious action started, there was success for Chipping Camp-den duo Geoff and Ruth Hands.
The pair, who were back together for the first time since Ruth broke her leg at Cadwell Park more than two years ago, clocked a top speed of 77.867mph on their 1972 998cc Imp engine sidecar outfit the 4.25 mile Billown Circuit.
They qualified third on the grid for last Friday's Classic races in Castletown, where they got off to a flier to lead from start to finish and clam victory with more than 30 seconds to spare.
The husband and wife team plan one more race in Scotland this year before taking a well-earned rest until next season.
Mark Tyrrell from Evesham finished 11th in the ultra lightweight class on his 125cc Chapman Tyrrell Honda at an average speed of 102mph.
