COMPETITION in the warm weather at Throckmorton CPSC was red hot last weekend when visitors and members returned an abundance of excellent scores.
The Skeet layout had maximums returned by seven top shots.
Early in the day, Norris Dolphin, Dave Coe and Mark Doughty achieved 25/25. Not to be outdone John Arnold and Stuart Emms repeated the feat.
The biggest cheer of the day was reserved for junior Simon Jones who also shot 25/25.
As the morning drew to a close, visitor Phil Smith shot another maximum to complete the leader board.
The most embarrassed Skeet shot was Phil Clarke who missed his option target to return 24/25. Single targets were also missed by John Boraston, Dave Barnfield, Kevin Cotton, Brian and Pat Smith.
On the Down the Line layout, Roy Hampton set the standard with a maximum for 71ex75. Paul Muzyka achie-ved his long awaited maximum with two second barrel hits to return 73/75.
Ian Seabright recorded the last maximum for 71/75, while Dave Crowley was the pick of the bunch who missed a single target scoring 72/75. Alan Ayres, Tony Smith, John Tarplee and Phil Smith all missed one target.
On the 50-bird Sporting layout, the gauntlet was thrown down early with Alan Ayres and Alf Symonds recording scores of 45/50 and 44/50.
Not to be overshadowed, Stuart Emms posted the top score of the day with 48/50 later in the session.

The next home shoot is on Sunday, June 15 when Childswickham GC will be the visitors. The previous day it's the Air Ambulance Charity shoot at Frog Hall Farm, Upton Snodsbury.
