With reference to the leading front page story in the Journal on Thursday, May 29th, "Lottery Winner in lap of luxury."
I think this is a poor choice of article for the paper and trust that you see it's publication as a mistake.
What you choose to publish ultimately determines the standard of the newspaper. The Journal is a part of life in the Vale and contributes much to the way in which others see us, and the way in which we see ourselves.
Generally the newspaper gets the pitch of its articles right and I see this one as an aberration.
The article is a tabloid type article, it is banal and if you stop to think it says nothing! yet it has taken up one of the most important spots in the newspaper.
I am not looking for the Evesham Journal to set a morale standard, equally I am not looking for it to join the British media propensity for the lowest common denominator.
Do what you are good at, promote the Vale and all the people who work hard to make it one of the most attractive places to live in the UK.
