A DRIVER who suffered both leg and head injuries after his car was in collision with a tipper lorry in Malvern, was described as "comfortable" this morning.
Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free the man from the crumpled wreckage of his white Volvo 440 in Madresfield Road, near to the turn for the A449 Worcester Road.
He was airlifted to University College Hospital in Selly Oak, Birmingham, after the accident at around 1.30pm yesterday.
It is believed the driver of the green Scania tipper lorry was uninjured.
An ambulance spokeswoman confirmed the motorist had a suspected fractured femur and an injury to the head.
The police cordoned off the road at both ends, closing it for around an hour.
Twenty minutes later, police officers were called to another collision in Lindridge, Tenbury Wells, between a white Mercedes Sprinter van and a white Volkswagen Passat estate.
The driver of the Passat was treated for minor injuries and the A443 was blocked for around 30 minutes until officers were able to clear one carriageway and allow traffic to pass in single file.
- Anyone with information on the incidents should call police on 08457 444 888 quoting 230S/050603 for the Malvern collision or 82C/050603 for the second crash.
