HURRY along tomorrow (Saturday) for the first summer fete of the season - Powick Church annual fete being held in and around Powick Parish Hall.
Opening at noon, the fete will provide all the usual stalls and attractions including hot lunches and, later, cream teas. Stalls include cakes, white elephant, toys, books, crafts, raffle and live music, proceeds are in aid of the building of toilet facilities in St Peter's Church, Powick.
On Sunday, an exemption dog show is being held at the Worcestershire Animal Rescue Centre at Deblins Green from 10.30am. There will be trade stands, stalls, fun activities, barbecue and entertainment from Soft Option Appalachian dancers.
Parishioners are invited to a Songs of Praise on Sunday, organised by Churches Together in Malvern. The event starts at 3pm in Priory Park, near the bandstand. Hymns and songs will be led by Rev Ant Petitt (the Priory Church) and Rev Ian Green (Baptist) and all are invited to join in and bring a picnic tea.
This Sunday the regular book fair is being held at Powick Parish Hall from 10.30am till 4pm. Book bargains and home-made refreshments.
The family service held this Sunday morning at St Peter's Church is at 11am. This is Pentecost or Whit Sunday and will include infant baptism.
Members of the Powick and Callow End branch of the Royal British Legion meet on Tuesday at the Callow End Club at 8.15pm.
They will also be in attendance at the Group Three Rally at Droitwich on Sunday, June 22. There will be a parade from the RBL Club at 2.15pm ending at St Andrew's Church for a service at 3pm.
