THE band Alias are something of a mystery.
It's no surprise really, considering lead singer Adrian Styles has impersonated Liam Gallagher on television but will not reveal a lot more about it.
All Adrian tells me is he used to be a Liam Gallagher lookalike, and he turned
down an appearance to be Liam on Stars in Their Eyes.
"I've imitated him in a television commercial," he says, then keeps quiet.
Adrian does not want to elaborate on his Liam fame and only wants to talk about his band Alias.
"We're destined for fame," states Adrian, who also plays acoustic guitar.
"All the guys in the band are proficient musicians and all the songs are our own, our music is particularly good."
Adrian from Warwick, who writes the music and lyrics for the band, has written more than 300 tunes, and is off to America in October to sell some of his songs.
"I've played with lots of other bands over the years, and then one day someone said 'Why don't you play your own stuff?" he explained.
Rock 'n' roll
Alias, who play rock 'n'roll songs, also consists of Derek Wood on bass, Andy Jones on guitar and Phil Vickers on drums.
They tell me one of their songs is called Hoochie Coochie Woman , and I can't help but think of The Stones' song of the same name when I hear that title.
"It's an American term for a slightly dodgy woman!" says Phil about the track.
The band have just released their 11-track album called Trick of the Light.
If you want to make your own mind up whether Alias has got what it takes to make the big time, you can catch them at Worcester's Marr's Bar, Pierpoint Street tonight.
