Grandaddy may not look like your granddad, but they have a somewhat mature impression.
Well let's face it - they are hardly your average fresh-faced boy band barely out of nappies, and that makes them so much better, as far as I can see.
I had the pleasure of reviewing their single this week called Now It's On and it's rather good to say the least.
The band all grew up in and around Modesto, a central California farming town.
Grandaddy release their third album Sumday on Monday, which Nightlife is set to review next week.
Sumday features 12 songs all written and produced by Grandaddy's Jason Lytle.
There will be a limited edition run of the album, which features an enhanced
section.
This includes the videos to Now It's On, a Grandaddy short film entitled Nacher Anthem plus a link to a micro-site where the band will supply their fans with exclusive material such as short films, photos and artwork.
For anyone who wants to catch the hot tip for the moment, Grandaddy will be appearing
at Carling Academy 2 Birmingham, Dale End, on Tuesday, June 10.
