MALVERN'S sexual health clinic for young people is to close and an alternative service set up.
South Worcestershire Primary Care Trust approved the move at a meeting on Wednesday (June 4).
A non-clinical "Time 4 U" service will replace the Malvern clinic, as part of measures to clawback a £5.7 million budget deficit.
However, GP-attached social workers and occupational therapists will not have to be axed, as had been feared. Worcestershire County Council will use interest generated on the £17 million funding for the posts it receives from the PCT to cover the deficit.
