HOW nice that the market has been allowed to return to its original site. I made my own effort to go and visit last week, but it was so far away I couldn't even see it! Pushed away over to the farthest most point of the Waitrose car park.
Our lovely market has been split up into too many factions now to really appreciate its beauty.
Tuesday and Friday markets, farmers' and gardeners' market and craft market all on different days at different times, when they all used to come together one day a week and there was such an atmosphere built, especially at celebration times like Christmas.
Something very beautiful is in danger of being lost when we dismiss the small in favour of the large, when we dismiss that already here in favour of glamourous buildings and technological wonders, when we dismiss our country's heritage in favour of Europe, when we dismiss the heart in favour of the head, when we dismiss all that we have evolved for and give it away to the bull.
Remember what happens in the china shop when the bull is set free . . .
