ASK any Malvern doctor and they will probably agree the inhabitants of Malvern frequently suffer from 'signisitis' (Your Letters, May 16) but health considerations apart the duplication of road signs can be counter-productive.
A paucity of signs, however, is worse - we used to find very few signs to the docks in Liverpool and last year hardly any signs to the University of Reading!
As a frequent walker of Malvern, the dog and I are often stopped and asked for directions to The Splash - frequently from families maddened by a half-hour search and we even hopped into the back of a car to help a nurse, made late for a meeting, by her search for Malvern College.
Malvern is a maze and it is important to support all our local industries, especially when they attract people to our town centre and, yes, the dog is very reliable on instructions to the local pet shop!
