PLANS for a wholesale bakery in Corse could be approved at the second attempt.
Planning permission is being requested to change the use of a barn/stables and agricultural land on the Tewkesbury to Worcester Road, near the junction with the A417.
This would allow St George's Bakery to move from its nearby base, which no longer meets the required standards for a bakery. The building would then be converted to residential use.
Forest of Dean District Council will meet on Tuesday, June 10, to consider the scheme.
The council turned down the last application in October. Objections included the use of a site in the open countryside and concerns over traffic safety.
Planning officers say changes made to the application make it more acceptable and recommend planning permission is granted. Corse Parish Council has continued to raise concerns over the site and changes needed to the building.
