VOLUNTEERS from Worcester, Birmingham and even Lancashire visited Malvern Youth Hostel last weekend with spades in their hands.
They came to help create a wildlife garden at the hostel, off Peachfield Road.
Hostel manager Graham Wood said: "They were there from Thursday to Monday and they got it all done in four days."
The work included improving the existing pond and creating a rockery, bog garden and log shelter for insects and small animals.
"It's looking a but rough now and the plants are a bit droopy but give it a month or so and it will be fine," he said.
The volunteers included members of the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme and students from an adult learning group.
