DAVE Irish was voted in unopposed as first XV captain at the SGM of Malvern RFC when the playing structure for next season was settled.
Darren Handy takes over the second team with Phil Hammond in charge of the development XV. This is a new departure for Malvern, as a result of a successful side coming through the youth section and maturing together. Simon Dixon, who has overseen the team through the age groups, will take on coaching responsibilities.
Mike Brannely takes over as captain of the Seagulls. Andy Cushing has relinquished his position as club coach, due to the success of his UCW team in reaching the top echelon of student rugby.
This means that Malvern are likely to lose some of the promising students from last season, as they will be playing Saturday fixtures for the University, although it is hoped that the link will be maintained for non-1st XV College players.
David Robins continues as director of rugby, with Paul Essenhigh taking over as coach, assisted by Gareth Richards and one other, yet to be announced.
Mark Wolfe continues as fixtures secretary, Bill Pomery as membership secretary, whilst Terry Hunt takes on the mantle of commercial manager.
All executive positions will be settled at the Club's AGM on July 4.
