This year Whitsuntide has gone far towards redeeming the reputation of Bank Holidays as a popular institution. The weather could have been hardly more delightful and as a consequence, thousands of excursionists from every part, and more especially from Birmingham visited Malvern on Monday and Tuesday. Altogether 14 excursions from various parts arrived on Whit Monday and the railway returns are stated to be extraordinary. Malvern News, June 5, 1903.

In response to the strong public demand for street lighting in Ledbury all the year round, the Urban Council on Monday agreed to accept the Midland Electricity Board's tender for lighting from half an hour after sunset to 11.30pm each evening, from May 1 to August 31 inclusive, for the sum of £17 10s. Ledbury Reporter, June 10, 1953.
At a meeting of the Malvern Electors' Association's Central Committee, the petition to the Queen by the Malvern Urban District Council, asking that borough status be granted to Malvern, was discussed. At the invitation of the central committee, Mr J Bulman (clerk to the council) spoke on this subject. He remarked that in all probability the principal question in the minds of the townspeople was whether the rates would be increased by the granting of borough status. He went on to assure the meeting that he was convinced no additional cost to the ratepayers would arise.

People living and working at the bottom of Bye Street have been taking the council to task following the second flooding in four days. Ledbury Reporter, June 8, 1978.
Lyttelton House, in Abbey Road, Malvern, can be used to house the Malvern Museum, which the organisers hope to have in operation by the autumn. The district council planning sub-committee has approved plans for the museum, which would utilise the first and second floors of the building. The county surveyor, who directed refusal of a recent application from South West Worcestershire Conservative Association for a club on a nearby site, raised no objection to the museum. It was felt the number of vehicles calling at the museum would be limited. Malvern Gazette, June 8, 1978.
