STONE visited West Malvern for a Division Six Crusader Worcester League fixture, won the toss and invited their hosts to bat.
WEST MALVERN v STONE
Powell and Logan bowled their 12 overs for less than 40 runs apiece, but Matthew Blackbourn batted steadily, accelerating the score to 218-7 at the close of the 45 overs, with a personal contribution of 73no.
The Stone reply was supported well by Blackledge, who compiled a useful 57. Despite the accurate bowling of Matthew Cross, whose 12 overs yielded only 24 runs, the Stone batsmen reached their target with two overs to spare, with Weideman ending on 55no.
The win for Stone earned them 20 points, West Malvern gaining four bonus points.
