CIRCUMSTANCE forced Peter Luff to change sides in a debate at the Oxford Union - titled "This house believes that the United Nations is an Anachronism".
Peter had been planning to argue against the motion until he noticed who else was lining up on that side of the argument.
It was Tory turncoat Shaun Woodward, who walked the floor to Labour ahead of the 2001 general Election.
Peter said: "There was no way I was going on his side.
"So I argued it was an anachronism - but a glorious one."
