HEREFORDSHIRE rower Mike Noel-Smith had an emotional reunion with his wife today, as he and companion Rob Abernethy finally reached dry land.
The pair were rescued by the Australian navy after their boat was battered in severe storms in which Mr Noel-Smith suffered concussion.
They arrived in the port of Fremantle in western Australia in the early hours of this morning on the HMAS Newcastle, which rescued them from the Indian Ocean.
Mr Noel-Smith, aged 45, from Much Dewchurch, was reunited with his wife Elizabeth, who had travelled from England.
