REIGNING champions Glamorgan made it five wins out of five in the National League First Division with a 31-run victory over Worcestershire at St Helens, Swansea.

In a match curtailed to 39 overs a side by the rain, Glamorgan set the visitors a target of 216 which included a six-run Worcestershire penalty for their slow over rate.

After a brisk start Tom Moody's men faltered and in the end were well beaten.

Glamorgan were helped by a record fifth wicket partnership against Worcestershire of 112 by David Hemp and Adrian Dale.

Dale top-scored in the Glamorgan innings, scoring a fine 60. He reached his half-century in 48 balls and had five fours and one six.

Hemp, who notched 59, reached his half-century in 76 balls with four fours.

Worcestershire made a bright start and soon got the run-rate up to five an over until wickets started to fall at regular intervals.

Alex Wharf was the principle destroyer as he had two brilliant bowling spells, first taking three for 20 in six overs and then one for four in just two overs. Off-spinner Robert Croft took three for 33.

Anurag Singh top scored for Worcestershire, while Andrew Hall chipped in with 35 and David Leatherdale made 32. But the rest of the batting collapsed in the face of some accurate Glamorgan bowling.
