WORCESTER Rugby Club have swooped for former New South Wales Waratahs hooker Ben Daly.
The 27-year-old joins the growing list of former Sydney University players to come to Worcester after Ben Hinshelwood and Drew Hickey.
Daly, like Hinshelwood, qualifies to play for Scotland because his parents were born in Glasgow and he has been at the city's club for the past year.
His chances, though, have been limited at Glasgow and the deal suits both parties with Worcester's director of rugby John Brain eager for reinforcements after Chris Pearson's return to South Africa.
The 6ft 2in hooker was originally a flanker before Bob Dwyer converted him while he was on a training contract with the Waratahs.
"It's not always successful when you convert a flanker to hooker," said Brain. "However, we've seen enough of him to think he'll make an impact. He's a big, physical player who is very good defensively.
"We are looking for someone to compete with Chris Hall for a first team spot and now we have Ben and Iyran Clunis who has great potential."
