BEFORE J Norwood can dispel a myth (You Say, May 28) he would need to know the correct facts.
First, the partnership does not include Worcestershire Acute Hospital Trust, according to an Evening News article (Tuesday, April 8) and the questions and answers leaflet published by The Safety Camera Partnership.
Secondly, Mr Norwood is wrong when he states "there must be a proven record of deaths at a particular spot".
Having written to the Unit Manager of the Partnership for confirmation of how many fatalities there had been on the City Walls Road, quite a few people, including Mr Norwood, might be surprised to learn that there has not been one death. Government guidelines for a fixed camera site (as quoted in Evening News) are that there must have been a minimum of eight personal injury collisions, including a minimum of four killed or seriously injured as a result of speed-related collisions.
