YOUNGSTERS stepped back into the past when a Victorian summer fair was held at Sunnyside School and Nursery in Barbourne, Worcester.

Children aged two to nine got into the spirit of things by dressing in Victorian costumes their parents had made.

Stalls were also laden with home-grown produce, plants, books, toys, tombolas, and Victorian cakes, biscuits, and sweets.

Apple bobbing and raffles were also a hit on the day.

The event was held by The Parents' Association of Sunnyside School to raise money for the school.

There were eight lucky winners of the Victorian fancy dress competition, who were presented with books and book vouchers.

Local businesses and shops donated prizes such as hair cuts, tanning vouchers and food vouchers for the raffles at the fair on Saturday.

"The sun shone and lots of children dressed up, and everybody had a good time and got into the spirit of things," said Mitzi Edwards, head teacher of the school.

"We've raised lots of money for the school funds."
