PLANS to build a new shop in Friar Street, Worcester, are to be considered by Worcester City Council on Thursday.
The application, from Amber Developments, is for a three-storey building between numbers 25 and 27, which will have a shop on the ground floor and a two-storey flat above.
Poor design and the need to fell a yew tree meant a similar application on the same site was refused in 1989. A tree preservation order was made on the yew tree in 1990 and the new proposals retain it.
The city council has received three letters of objection concerning development, lack of parking and disturbance during construction. But city planners have recommended that the proposals be approved.
