Redditch United 3 Cinderford Town 0

ANOTHER win for Redditch on Saturday sees them sitting pretty in the top six, writes Matt Smith.

They say football is a game of two halves, which was certainly proved on Saturday.

Reds dominated proceedings from the kick-off but just couldn't find the killer goal in the first period.

After the interval it was a different story - Reds scored twice in two minutes to put the game beyond Cinderford.

United's first came on 55 minutes, a timely run by new striker Chris Rowell was picked out by Matty Hall and Rowell neatly finished past Andy Fisher in the Cinderford goal.

Two minutes later bustling midfielder Richard Field was on the score sheet with Hall yet again the supplier.

A corner from the right found Field at the back post and he duly headed home.

Redditch had the ball in the net a third time on 67 minutes but substitute Naveed Arshad's effort was ruled out for a foul on the keeper.

But it was another Reds sub that rounded off the rout.

Nicky Clarke, replacing Steve Shaw, picked the ball from inside his own half with five minutes to go cut inside the weary Cinderford defence and 25-yards-out spanked an unstoppable shot past Fisher.
