Redditch United 4 RC Warwick 1

REDDITCH got back to winning ways on Saturday with a comprehensive display against lowly Racing Club Warwick, writes Matt Smith.

After four away defeats on the trot in league and cup United needed a jolt and got it from on-loan winger Simon Hollis.

Hollis bagged his hat trick in just 63 minutes and there was no way back for the visitors who are struggling at the wrong end of the table.

Hollis started the Reds revival after 15 minutes.

Woeful Warwick defending let Hollis run unmarked in the box and when he was picked out, Warwick keeper, Gary Hateley had no chance.

And just when you thought the Reds were going to knock-in a cricket score the visitors equalised with a stunner.

Lee Darlison scored from outside the area after a corner from the left.

The burly midfielder chipped a beauty in off the post leaving Anstiss staring.

But it was three goals in 18 minutes after the interval which put the game beyond Warwick's reach.

Midfield maestro Richard Field got on the score sheet after 47 minutes.

Mark Scott on the right crossed along the six-yard box to the unmarked Field at the back post who coolly slotted home.

Two minutes later Hollis Grabbed his second and United's third.

This time Alex Cowley skinned the Warwick defence and his shot was parried to Hollis who made no mistake from 15-yards.

But Redditch saved their best until last.

Matty Hall, back after long-term injury, came on with half-an-hour remaining and set up Hollis for his hat trick.

Hollis latched on to an inch-perfect cross on the left and his diving header was clinical.
