Redditch United 0 Clevedon Town 1
WHAT a difference a goal makes.
When Lee Booth showed a delightful touch to control a difficult Matty Hall cross in the box and beat Town keeper Dave Mogg in the 24th minute he could have opened the floodgates.
But his drive went behind off the outside of the post and five minutes later the visitors bucked the run of play to take the lead.
Steve Shaw lost possession at a corner, Steve Lester hared down the right and crossed for Deon Vernon to open his Clevedon account.
The remaining 61 minutes was a tale of missed half chances but the Reds had no reason to bemoan their luck because Mogg was rarely troubled despite Town's lack of possession.
And, of all people, it was Booth who should have levelled with a free header in the 41st minute.
