BROMSGROVE Rovers will only move into a new stadium if it can guarantee the club Football League status - according to chairman Tom Herbert.
Rovers representatives have met with the council for talks following speculation the council were seeking to relocate the club to land at Ashborough's Fruit Farm, in Old Burcot Lane.
Herbert asked for a meeting to discuss the situation and was pleased with the positive outcome.
But he said: "We have a seven-year lease and they can't move Rovers. We will only move to a Football League status ground."
The club aims to return to its former glory Conference days and would need a higher standard of facilities to make that jump and, in turn, to the Football League.
The two parties are due to meet again in a month.
