ROVERS joint manager Gary Hackett has heaped praise on goalkeeper Matt Lowe after the player decided to leave the club.
Lowe, a permanent fixture in Rovers' goal last season, took the decision during the pre-season campaign to part company but has not moved to another club.
Hackett said: "I have got a lot of time for Matt Lowe and I respect his decision. He was one of the reasons we got promotion."
Lowe's replacement is former Green Chris Taylor, signed after a successful trial period, which included the Hereford United game.
Hackett added: "We have had to move quickly but we believe he (Taylor) is a great signing."
