JAMES Dyson was the toast of Bromsgrove Rovers after he lobbed the Rocester goalkeeper from 40 yards to earn his side a 1-0 victory.
Dyson, playing instead of the injured Jon Ford, seized his opportunity three minutes into the second half. Les Palmer's effort was charged down by substitute goalkeeper John Ensor and Dyson sent a sweet shot over his head.
The result keeps Gary Hackett and Ford's side out in front at the top of the Dr Martens Western.
But Rovers were made to work for their win, which also ends Rocester's unbeaten home record this season.
The hosts could have scored early on when Steve Oldaker headed just wide of Matt Lowe's goal.
And Richard Burgess thought he had scored five minutes before the break when his effort hit the bar and appeared to drop over the line but nothing was given.
Stewart Brighton nearly lobbed the goalkeeper himself on 62 minutes while clearing from halfway but his effort dropped just wide.
Lowe came to his side's rescue on 73 minutes, tipping a Martin Roundtree shot over the bar.
