ANTI-SOCIAL behaviour will be top of the agenda when Government "tsar" Louise Casey visits Worcester later today.

Ms Casey has been chosen to head the Government's new Anti-social Behaviour Unit, set up to tackle nuisances within communities across Britain.

After attending a crime concern conference in Birmingham, Ms Casey will be moving on to Worcester to meet police chiefs to discuss how they are combating anti-social behaviour in the city.

She is then expected to go on a police car tour of Worcester, Ronkswood and Warndon, where police have introduced anti-disorder initiatives.

Supt Rod Reynolds, of Worcester Police, said: "She is coming along to meet with the team to be briefed on the innovative work that has been carried out in the last 12 months and the successful effect this has had on reducing disorder within Worcester city. She will be looking at our processes and procedures, which in some aspects, are considered, nationally, to be best practice."

A CASH injection of more than £340,000 is on its way to the county to help build safer communities.

The CDRP (Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership), which is made up of a number of agencies including the council and police, is to receive the money as part of a Government crack-crime initiative.

The CDRP in Worcester is to receive an extra £114,608, Wychavon £108,250 and Wyre Forest £118,360.
