TODAY (Friday) is decision day in the row over union recognition at Studley-based Needles Industries Ltd.
Members of the Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers have threatened industrial action unless the company agrees to recognise their representatives in pay negotiations.
Union chiefs set the deadline for today and Needle Industries' 877 local employees were this morning issued with a statement from the company announcing its decision on the union ultimatum.
The row is centred around the company's main local works - the Arrow Works at Studley, which employs 425 people.
