Redditch Arrows fell to their fourth defeat of the season at home to Bristol Aztecs on Sunday.
The hosts started in disastrous fashion when their first drive was stopped by Bristol and the Aztecs' first offensive play saw them go in on a 35 yard run for a 7-0 lead.
Arrows' problems deepened when they allowed Bristol to strip the ball from the Arrows returner on their kick-off return for a 14-0 deficit.
With the Aztecs well on top they drove downfield and found the end-zone again for a commanding first quarter 21-0 lead after another Redditch punt.
The second quarter saw the Arrows start to come back but Bristol again provided the only scoring of the half with a seven yard run to give them a 27-0 half time lead.
The second half started with a revitalised Arrows at last beginning to cause Aztecs problems.
A 15 yard Anthony Perkins run coupled with a two point PAT from Stuart McNeil saw the Arrows get points on the board at 8-27.
But Bristol were not to be denied and a 10 yard run re-established the margin of their lead to 33-8.
Arrows produced the play of the game when Perkins went in for his second score on a 25 yard return to reduce the lead to 33-14.
There is no respite with Arrows visiting Conference leaders Southern Sundevils on Sunday.
