DREWE Broughton has left Kidderminster Harriers by mutual consent.
The 24-year-old forward is expected to sign for Third Division rivals Southend United later today subject to a medical at Roots Hall.
Harriers boss Ian Britton said the move was of benefit to both parties but paid tribute to Broughton who made a total of 90 appearances for the club, scoring 16 goals.
"Drewe has done very well for us, and always gave 100 per cent and we've done well for him too," said Britton.
"It was a mutual decision, there was no fall-out and I didn't have a problem with him staying.
"We just felt that it might be in his best interests to make a fresh start.
"It leaves us a bit short up front but I've got a few things in mind but there's no sense in rushing into anything."
Broughton was signed by former Harriers boss Jan Molby in the 2000-01 season.
He previously played for Norwich, Brentford and Peterborough.
