AN original piece of theatre South - arrives at Birmingham Repertory Theatre on Tuesday.
Bringing together the creative talents of writer Vayu Naidu and composer Orphy Robinson, the production is a mix of storytelling, live music, Bharata Natyan classic dance and contemporary dance.
It draws inspiration from a Western myth, a tale from the East and a traditional Viking legend.
Directed by Chris Banfield, the production is described as 'visually stunning,' and the action is portrayed by three dancers set to lively, original, percussive and computer generated music.
Vayu, storyteller in the production and artistic director of the Vayu Naidu Company, which is dedicated to new writing with new composers, is a prolific writer.
Her plays have included Playboy of the Asian World and Nine Nights, both commissioned and produced by Leicester Haymarket Theatre, together with many written for radio.
Orphy Robinson is renowned as a jazz musician and composer, combining jazz, contemporary classical, African and funk music.
He features on albums by Courtney Pine, Andy Sheppard and Jazz Warriors and later this year is undertaking a commission for the Royal Opera House.
South run sat The Door until June 21 and includes a Thursday matinee.
Tickets cost £9.50 and £6 on 0121 236 4455 or www.birmingham-rep.co.uk
